Theft of $760,000 results in 3-year term

A 54-year-old Omaha woman was sentenced to three years in federal prison Tuesday for stealing more than $760,000 while employed as a business manager for a freight com­pany.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Kopf also ordered Toni R. Walker to make restitution in the amount of $765,236. Walker took the money between No­vember 2007 and April 2012 while employed by Royal For­warding Inc. According to an indictment, Walker drafted checks to her­self, and she spent the money on such things as utility bills and gambling.
